Puthiya Kunnathu Puthiya Bhagavathy Temple

The Puthiya Kunnathu Puthiya Bhagavathy temple is the Kavu of the Pariyaaram manor. Legend has it that the deity ran off with the Karanavar (family head) of the manor. The Kavu is 1 km below the Pazhayangadi road past the Kuppappalam on the Kannur - Taliparamba - Payyanur route. The Kavu has been renovated without altering its traditional design. Bound by traditional religious rites, such Kavus have existed with minor changes for generations.
